Lia Oganesyan is a TED Resident and founder of VeeR Hub – an online marketplace for virtual reality content creation. A VR evangelist who published DARPA funded research in 2011 at the Institute for Creative Technologies, she is particularly vested in architecting the intersection of technology and humanity to build a more compassionate world. Lia intends to catalyze the use of VR as the most ideal medium to cultivate vision and curate community. A former music industry professional who toured with Bon Jovi, she has also worked with the Clinton Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies to reduce carbon emissions in 60 cities globally. Lia has also privately consulted on $1.5B of city contracts in the City of Los Angeles. Contrary to the frame of thought that VR is a solitary, isolationist experience, it is radically cultivating micro communities worldwide. This shift from 'access to information' to 'access to experiences' is the catalyst Lia believes will raise collective global consciousness.
